Reinforced transmissions by Herero 4×4

Continuous innovation

Our reinforced transmission kits are designed to meet customer needs in terms of performance, strength and reliability. Thinking about the preparation for off-road use of the vehicle, the transmission is certainly one of the biggest problems to solve on a Land Rover, because standard driveline has been designed for small tires and poor power engines.

In the last 20 years, from 7.50×16 tires have been used as vehicle preparation, we are now arrived to vehicles equipped with lockers, 37″ tires and unimaginable (horse) powers. That’s why that the reinforcement used only 5-6 years ago, today is to be considered obsolete because it does not reflect the modern needs that the modified vehicle imposes. Our research and development department experiences this change on its own skin, always having to offer new and more performing products for our competition vehicles.

The world of extreme competition races is for us the proof field of all our products thanks to which we are able to supply quality accessories that meet modern demands in terms of performance and reliability .

Herero 4×4 drive (prop) shafts double cardan type with 43° rotation-work are equipped with external greasing points directly on the cross, to facilitate maintenance works. Made with 63mm grooves with stroke up to 130mm rolled for maximum strength and 27mm crosses.

The axle shafts of the SHD line are designed as an upgrade for the vehicles equipped with 35-37” tires. They are built with an extremely high strength aerospace-derived alloy steel, with anti-crack profiles and induced breaking points to avoid breakage of other parts and maximize replacement speed.

The adoption of the track widening kit coupled with the use of Herero 4×4 rims allows greater stability on the road and on side slopes, improves driving quality while maintaining precise steering and controlled reactions, comfort stability and driving pleasure.

The Herero 4×4 flanges have been designed to avoid water infiltration, mud etc.. They guarantee exceptional strength and preserve the transmission from premature wear. Available for all Land Rover axles.

The Herero 4×4 reinforced ring and pinion are recommended both for extreme use of the vehicle and for restoring the original Land Rover axle ratios in the case of using bigger wheels. Built of very high resistance steel, they allow a 13.85% reduction in ratio, leading to 4.11 gear ratio (37 crown teeth 9 pinion teeth).

The HDC100 differential represents the spearhead of our new line of reinforced transmissions for Land Rover called “SHD”. It has been built for the most extreme competitions, designed with unique characteristics and produced with a certified production line made up of expert operators and strict quality control processes.
